Vermont Timberfloor
is a family owned company based at our 200-acre farm and sawmill facility
called Sunrise Farm in Guilford Vermont. While the name we have chosen for
our unique flitch sawn plank flooring, Timberfloor, is recent, our
hands-on, two generation dedication to forestry and lumber production
began in 1969 when Steve Smith bought a hundred acres of forestland and
his first draft horse and started growing and harvesting timber.

“Finding
good quality wide pine boards was difficult so we felt fortunate to find
Timberfloor. They were a
delightful company to work with and our floors were easy to install and
finish."

and Larry Simons, owners of A Candle in The Night in Brattleboro, Vermont www.acandleinthenight.com

While the
horse has been replaced by more humane forestry machinery, the Smith
family’s commitment to long-term sustainable forestry management and
harvesting remains as strong as ever.
Currently our family owned
forests total 720 acres in Southern Vermont and Western Massachusetts. Our sawmill and showroom are located at
our 200 acre home farm and working forest in Guilford, Vermont where we also
offer a self guided forest
and sawmill tour.
While many other wide plank
flooring sellers identify themselves with green building and sustainable
forestry practices, Timberfloor offers you the opportunity to see their
sustainable forestry first hand. You can actually see how and where your
floor was grown before you buy it. Click
